Police Provide Update on Fatal Gaithersburg Townhouse Fire (VIDEO & PHOTO)
Montgomery County Police are investigating a suspicious death that occurred during a townhouse fire in Gaithersburg on March 29. Captain Darren Francke, director of the Major Crimes division, held a news conference at the scene of the fire to provide updates on the case. You can watch the full news conference below;
According to police, 63-year-old Steven Skalabrin’s body was discovered in the basement of the townhouse located on 1812 Windjammer Way. Authorities said Skalabrin shared the residence with two roommates.
The cause of death continues to be under investigation. Police are asking anyone with information to contact Montgomery County Police Major Crimes Division by calling 240.773.5070

UPDATED Battalion Chief Kevin Frazier is at the scene of last night’s fatal fire. Frazier estimates damages from the fire at $600,000.
