Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department are investigating two thefts that occurred at the Bloomingdale’s Friendship Heights store.

Police released photos of a suspect and are asking for the public’s help to identify a suspect described as white male in mid-to-late forties with brown hair “that is graying and a white mustache.”

According to police, at approximately 7:32 p.m. on Aug.10, a Bloomingdale’s loss prevention officer notified a police officer who was in his marked police car at the intersection of Wisconsin Avenue and Western Avenue. The prevention officer told police that a male suspect had removed twelve pairs of sunglasses and fled the store, and added that the same suspect allegedly committed the same crime on Aug. 5 but store representatives did not report the theft.

Investigators are asking anyone with information about this suspect to call Crime Solvers of Montgomery County toll-free at 1.866.411.8477. Crime Solvers is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for any information that leads to the arrest of the suspect. Callers will remain anonymous.
