Police Look for Man Who Fired Gun in Fairland 7-Eleven Parking Lot
Montgomery County police hope someone recognizes the surveillance image of man sought in connection of a gun fired in a Fairland 7-Eleven on March 29, police said.
No one was injured, police said.
About 9:30 p.m. March 29, the county’s 911 center received a report that a man had fired multiple rounds from a handgun into the passenger side window of a black sedan that had been parked at the 7-Eleven at 12257 Tech Road, police said.
Responding officers from the Silver Spring police district did not find the sedan in the parking lot but did observe broken glass around an empty parking space, police said.
The investigation by detectives determined that shortly before the shooting occurred, the man had entered a nearby hotel and had asked an employee for a coat hanger, police said.
The man told the employee that he had locked himself out of his vehicle. The employee stated that the suspect left the hotel without obtaining the coat hanger, police said.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Silver Spring police district Patrol Investigations Unit at 240-773-6800. Those who wish to remain anonymous may call Crime Solvers of Montgomery County toll-free at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477).
