Police Investigating Fatal Pedestrian Accident in Silver Spring Area

Detectives with the Montgomery County Police Department are investigating a fatal pedestrian accident in the Silver Spring area.

According to a press release, 67-year-old Julio Vargas Valerio of Takoma Park was crossing University Boulevard East at Seek Lane when he was struck by one vehicle, then struck again by another shortly before 8:00 p.m. on Sunday. Valerio was pronounced dead at the scene. Police say none of the occupants in the two vehicles were injured.
