Police Investigate Suspicious Death (Photos)

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Major Crimes Division continue to investigate the death of Chandrasekhar Korapati, age 50, of the 9800 block of Juniper Hill Road. According to police, Mr. Korapati’s death has been ruled a homicide by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

According to police, the State’s Attorney’s Office and Major Crimes Division detectives continue to review this case, and no charges have been placed at this time.

Montgomery County police are investigating the suspicious death of a 50-year-old man in the 9800 block of Juniper Hill Road in the Willows community.

Police Captain Jim Daly said police and fire were dispatched to the Rockville address at 6:24 a.m. on July 11 for the report of an adult male not breathing. Police have identified the victim as Chandrasekhar Korapati of Rockville.

After interviewing family members, police said they believe the victim got into an altercation with his 19-year-old son and 20-year-old daughter. Police said it was the son who called 911 to report that his father was not breathing.

During the day-long investigation, police roped off a corner of the street with yellow crime tape and investigators were seen carrying out bags of stuff from the house.

Police said the cause and manner of death are under investigation by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. The son and daughter, along with other family members, are being interviewed by detectives. No charges have been filed at this time.
