Police Investigate Shooting in Wheaton

Police sirenMontgomery County police say a 27-year-old man is hospitalized in serious condition after he was found shot along Centerhill Street in Wheaton on Tuesday night.

Shortly after 9:30 p.m., police officers from the 4th District station responded to the 12100 block of Centerhill Street for the report of a shooting.

According to a police account, first responders found the victim suffering from apparent gunshot wounds on the sidewalk. According to police, the injured man was transported to a local trauma center for treatment of his injuries.

Detectives continue to investigate this case and are asking for the public’s help. Anyone with information regarding this shooting is asked to contact the 4th District Investigative Section at 240.773.5530.
