Police Investigate Shooting in Silver Spring Neighborhood
UPDATED Montgomery County police officers are investigating a shooting that occurred shortly before 7 p.m. in the 9500 block of Clement Road in Silver Spring on Thursday night.
Police said a 47-year-old man was transported to the hospital in serious condition with an apparent gunshot wound to the body. Police said the man is hospitalized in stable condition and detectives plan to interview him today regarding the assault.
According to police, the preliminary investigation indicates that the victim answered his residence door and a confrontation took place between him and two male suspects at the front door. Police said the victim stated that one of the suspects shot him and both suspects fled from the area. Investigators do not believe this assault was random, according to a news release issued by the police department.
Police are searching for the two male suspects.
