Police Investigate Sexual Assault in Silver Spring

Montgomery County police are investigating a sexual assault that occurred on May 2 in Silver Spring.

According to police, a 21-year-old postal employee was walking in the neighborhood behind the Post Office during her lunch break when she was approached by a male subject. Police said the suspect was armed with a knife and forced the victim into the backyard of a nearby residence. Police said the suspect sexually assaulted the victim before fleeing the area.

Police describe the suspect as a black male, 5’6″ tall, with a medium build. According to police, the suspect had gray and black facial hair and several missing or broken teeth.
