Police Investigate Sexual Assault at Gaithersburg Lake

Montgomery County police officers are investigating an alleged sexual assault case of a woman in a wooded area near a Gaithersburg lake.  

At approximately 6:30 p.m. Saturday, 6th District officers and Gaithersburg Police Department officers were called to Longdraft Road near Clopper Lake.  

Police said that the victim was on the footpath when the suspect pulled her into the woodline and sexually assaulted her. A witness who was on the path heard the victim scream and went to help her. The suspect fled on foot.  

The suspect is described as a black male in his 30’s who is approximately 6 feet tall. He has a large facial scar going from his upper cheekbone to his mouth and was wearing a black baseball cap, black sweatpants, a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt, and white shoes.
