Police Investigate Serious Pedestrian Collision in Germantown
Montgomery County Police are investigating a serious pedestrian collision that occurred around 10 p.m. on Sunday night in Germantown.
Police said first responders found the unconscious man on the right side of the northbound lanes at 19601 North Frederick Road near Gunners Branch Road. Police said the man was transported to a local trauma center where he remains in critical condition. Police are not releasing the man’s identity until his family has been notified.
According to police, the preliminary investigation indicates that the 37-year-old man was crossing east across northbound Route 355 from the median, when for reasons still under investigation, he was struck in the northbound lanes by a silver, 2000 Chrysler Town and Country minivan which was traveling north on Route 355. Police said the driver of the minivan remained on the scene and provided information to investigators.
Police identified the driver of the minivan as James Kellogg McHenry Montgomery Village.
