Police Investigate Series of Shootings in Burtonsville

Montgomery County’s Department of Police (MCPD)  is investigating a series of shootings in Burtonsville that do not appear to be at random, according to a statement from MCPD.

The shootings that occurred are listed below:

On April 8 at about 7:55 p.m. officers received calls and responded to reports for the sound of shots fired in the 14600 block of Wexhall Terrace. Officers found an 18-year-old male suffering from a non-life threatening gun shot wound and located multiple shell casings, according to police.

On April 9 at about 10 p.m. officers received calls and responded to a report of shots fired near Greencastle Road and Turnbridge Drive. Officers found multiple shell casings in the area, according to police.

On April 14 at about 2:35 p.m. the Emergency Communications Center received multiple calls for the sound of shots fired near the 1400 block of Castle Boulevard and Edgewood Park, according to police.

On the same day, officers responded to reports of shots fired near Edgewood Park and located multiple shell casings, according to police.

On April 17 at about 3:25 a.m. officers received calls and responded to reports of shots fired near Crosswood Drive and located multiple shell casings, according to police.

On Monday, shortly after midnight officers responded to a report of shots fired near Castle Boulevard and Sheffield Manor Terrace. They did not locate any victims or shell casings, according to police.

Police are urging anyone in the community with information about the shootings to notify the department.
