Police Investigate Germantown Shooting

moco policeUPDATED Montgomery County police are investigating a shooting that occurred at approximately at 1:30 a.m. on Aug. 5 in Germantown.

According to police, officers from the 1st and 5th Districts responded to a home in the 17400 block of Onax Drive for a report of a shooting that had just occurred. Police said officers found an adult male, age 22, who had been shot multiple times.  The victim was transported to a local hospital where he underwent surgery, police said.

Police said their preliminary investigation reveals that multiple suspects forced their way into the house.  An altercation occurred inside the home resulting in the victim being shot, police said.    The surrounding area was searched by K-9 teams with the assistance of the U.S. Park Police helicopter but no suspects were located. The circumstances that led to the shooting are still under investigation, police said.
