Police Investigate Fatal Collision in Poolesville
UPDATED Montgomery County police officers are investigating a fatal collision that occurred Friday night in Poolesville.
It happened around 7:40 p.m. at 16001 Partnership Road near White’s Ferry Road.
For reasons still under investigation, police said the vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree. According to police, the driver of the vehicle died at the scene of the crash.
Police have identified the driver as 61-year-old Leland Thomas of Annandale, Virginia. Police said he was driving a 2011 Chevrolet Silverado, and he was the only person in the vehicle.
This collision remains under investigation. Anyone with information regarding this collision is asked to contact the Collision Reconstruction Unit at 240.773.6620.
