Police Investigate Damascus Bank Robbery (Video)
Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Major Crimes Division – Robbery Section are investigating a bank robbery that occurred on May 17, at the M&T Bank in Damascus. Detectives have released surveillance photos of the suspect and are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect.
The robbery, police said, took place at approximately 12:51 p.m. on May 17. Police said that’s when 5th District officers responded to the M&T Bank located at 9801 Main Street in Damascus for the report of a bank robbery.
Police said the investigation reveals that the suspect entered the bank, approached a teller, and demanded money. The suspect received an undisclosed amount of cash, placed the money in a plastic bag, and fled from the bank, police said.
Police said the suspect is described as a white male, in his early twenties, approximately 5’10″ tall, with a thin build. He was wearing a red, Aeropostale sweatshirt with the words, “AERO 1987″ in white letters, according to police. They added that to conceal his identity, the suspect wore sunglasses, a covering over his face, and a baseball hat.
