Police Investigate Assault in Wheaton

Montgomery County police officers are investigating the assault of a 25-year-old man that occurred in the early morning hours of July 4th in Wheaton.

Police received a call to 9-1-1, shortly after 1 a.m., about an injured person who was lying on the ground in the area of Judson Road and Henderson Avenue.

Officers located the man in the roadway.  According to a police department news release, the man was transported to a local hospital with life threatening injuries. Police said the victim remains hospitalized in critical condition.

Detectives are urging anyone who may have information regarding this assault to contact the Major Crimes Division at 240.773.5070.
