Update: Police Investigate Armed Carjacking in Potomac

Update, Sunday: Montgomery County police offered new details over the weekend on the alleged carjacking of an Uber driver on Friday.
The driver told police that about 5 p.m. he responded to a request from the Uber app for a fare at Tildenwood Drive and Montrose Road. There, four men in their 20s entered the car, and one pulled a handgun, police said.

The men demanded that the driver turn off the engine, get out of the car and empty his pockets. They took the driver’s wallet, his phone and the car, police said.

The Uber driver flagged down a passing motorist for assistance. The motorist drove the Uber driver a short distance in an effort to locate the suspects and/or the stolen vehicle but they were unsuccessful. The Uber driver then called 911.

The car is a black, 2017 Honda Civic bearing Maryland tags, 6CP2924, police said.
