Montgomery County police are asking the public’s help in identifying the men in surveillance photos that captured thefts from two cars in early August in Brookeville.

The first case occurred about 4 a.m. Aug. 1 in the driveway of a home in the 21300 block of Ridgecroft Drive. A man driving a white pick-up stole property from the victim’s unlocked vehicle, police said.

The second case occurred about 3 a.m. Aug. 4 in the driveway of a home in the 21300 block of Denit Estates Drive. Two men arrived in a white pick-up and stole property from the victim’s two unlocked vehicles, police said.

Police said thefts from unlocked vehicles continue to be a high-volume crime in Montgomery County, and police urge all residents to take a role in preventing this type of crime by removing valuables from vehicles and locking all doors.

Anyone with information regarding the men is asked to call the Wheaton police district Patrol Investigations Unit at 240-773-5476. Those who wish to remain anonymous may call Crime Solvers of Montgomery County toll-free at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477). Crime Solvers will pay a cash reward of up to $10,000 for information that leads to an arrest.
