Police Department Adds K9s, Including Police Dog Named After Fallen Police Officer Noah Leotta (PHOTOS)

The Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) is welcoming three new K9 graduates: K9 Arco, K9 Gabby, and K9 Noah.

According to a MCPD news release, K9 Noah is named in memory of fallen Montgomery County Police Officer Noah Leotta.

The three K9s graduated from K9 Basic Patrol School on Jan. 6. The 12-week class was comprised of nine K9 teams (dog and police officer handler) representing the Montgomery County Police Department, the Alexandria City Police Department, the Gaithersburg Police Department, the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office, the Laurel City Police Department, and the Washington County Sheriff’s Office. The training included the skills of article searching, tracking, agility, apprehension, and obedience.
