Police Arrest Murder Suspect

Montgomery County police have arrested Tavon Antonio Miles, age 26, of the 19600 block of Framingham Drive in Gaithersburg. Police said he is charged with the homicide of Marc St. Aubin that occurred on March 3.

Here’s a police account of what happened: “On March 3, at approximately 10:30 p.m., 4th District officers responded to a residence in the 15800 block of Laughlin Lane for the report of a shooting. Arriving officers found an adult male deceased in the driveway. The victim was identified as Marc St. Aubin, age 23, of that residence. An autopsy by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner ruled the death a homicide. The victim had blunt force injuries and a stab wound. A holster was located along the small of the victim’s back. That handgun has not been recovered.

“Witnesses inside of the home at the time of the incident spoke with detectives. These witnesses stated that numerous armed suspects entered the residence. A struggle ensued, gunshots were heard, and the victim was injured. Some witnesses assisted in bringing the victim to a car in the driveway so that he could be driven to the hospital. Other witnesses began to remove items from the house, to include guns, a safe, and suspected marijuana. Officers recovered bullets from inside the home.

Shortly after arriving on scene, officers were notified of an adult male who was dropped off at a nearby hospital. He was reportedly suffering from gunshot wounds. That male was identified as Tavon Miles. A bullet recovered from Miles’ clothing during medical treatment was compared to the bullets recovered from inside the home. The comparison revealed that all of the recovered projectiles were of the same caliber and fired from the same gun. The victim had a gun of that caliber registered through Maryland.”

Police said Tavon Miles was charged on March 22 with first degree murder, first degree burglary, and armed robbery. He is being held without bond.
