On July 27, at about 10:25 a.m., a parishioner of a church that the couple attended called police and said that Cola Beale had called him stating that he had killed his wife inside their home in the 18300 block of Hallmark Court, according to a police press release.  Officers responded to the home and forced their way inside, police said.  There they found the body of June Carlita Beale.  Capt. Paul Starks told MyMCMedia Monday, the woman’s body was found at the bottom of a set of stairs that lead to the basement. Starks said she had “some sort of blunt force trauma to her body.”

Police officers spoke to Cola Beale on his cell phone and they say he admitted to killing his wife and also told them where he was in Norfolk, Va.  Police in Virginia arrested Beale without incident where he is being held awaiting extradition.

The body of June Carlita Beale has been transported for an autopsy to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore, according to the press release.
