Police are Investigating Hate-Based Vandalism in Wheaton
Montgomery County police officers are investigating a hate-based vandalism that occurred at a residence on McMahon Road in Wheaton on Thursday.
According to police, the preliminary investigation by officers indicates that the homeowner left the home in the morning and returned at approximately 3:20 p.m. that afternoon.
That’s when police said the homeowner discovered that a derogatory word had been written in black marker across the front door of the residence. According to police, the victim believes that her race may be the motive for the vandalism.
