‘Pirates’ and ‘Music Man” at Rockville’s Fitzgerald Theatre
Hear the much-parodied “Major General’s Song” performed by the Victorian Lyric Opera Company when it presents the comic opera, “The Pirates of Penzance,” this month at Rockville’s F. Scott Fitzgerald Theatre.
Show times are at 8 p.m. on June 20 and 21, and 2 p.m. on June 22. A family-friendly matinee is Saturday, June 21 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $16-$24.
Keep your sights set on the Fitzgerald Theatre’s stage in July, as Rockville Musical Theatre presents “The Music Man.” Enjoy this hit Broadway show with music and lyrics beloved by many. It’s a tale of a traveling con artist music man who makes an impression on a small town.
“The Music Man” runs July 11-July 27. Show times are at 8 p.m. on July 11, 12, 18, 19, 25 and 26, and 2 p.m. on July 20 and 27. Tickets are $20-$22.
Rockville Musical Theatre is a volunteer organization dedicated to high quality musical theatre and showcasing local talent.
F. Scott Fitzgerald Theatre is a 446-seat facility for the performing arts used primarily by community theater groups and professional touring companies. The facility is operated as a rental venue for both public and private events.
The theatre, nestled in Rockville Civic Center Park, has ample free parking. It is one mile from the Rockville Metro station and a few blocks off Route 28 in the heart of Rockville.
