Photos Released of Man Involved in Alleged Assault at Germantown Shoppers
Police have released photographs of a man who allegedly assaulted another person at the Shoppers Food Warehouse in Germantown.
Montgomery County police said Germantown district officers responded to a call about 6:16 p.m. March 18 about a man assaulting a 21-year-old man in the grocery store.
Police said investigators believe the assault was over a “traffic altercation that occurred earlier” between the 21-year old and a woman driving a gold Lincoln MKZ.
According to police, the victim said that before entering Shoppers, he was driving in the parking lot when “he was involved in a traffic altercation with the female driving” the Lincon. After this altercation, the victim told police he parked and went into the store.
As the victim was in the checkout area, a man confronted him and referred to the incident that occurred in the parking lot, police say. The man assaulted the victim “and then fled the store,” according to police.
After the assault, police say Montgomery County Fire & Rescue personnel “transported the victim to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries.”
As Germantown district police officers continue investigating this situation, they’ve released surveillance photos of the man they believe assaulted the victim.
Police ask anyone with knowledge about the man or the woman who drove the Lincoln to call 240-773-6200. To be eligible for a reward of up to $10,000, people can also call the Crime Solvers of Montgomery County with information at 1-866-411-8477.
