Photographs of Suspects Released
Montgomery County police continue to investigate a theft from a vehicle in Olney and a theft from a vehicle in Damascus that are believed to have been committed by the same suspect(s). Detectives are releasing photographs of the two suspects and are asking for the public’s help in identifying these suspects.
On October 25 between the hours of 8:30 am and 4 p.m., an unknown suspect(s) entered a vehicle parked at Damascus Elementary School (10201 Bethesda Church Road in Damascus). The suspect(s) removed credit cards from a purse that had been placed behind the front driver’s seat of the vehicle, police said.
Between 9 p.m. and 11:15 p.m. on that same day, police said, an unknown suspect(s) entered a vehicle parked in the driveway of a residence in the 3800 block of Old Baltimore Drive in Olney. The suspect(s) removed money and credit cards from a purse that was located on the front passenger seat of the vehicle, according to police.
Detectives have determined that the stolen credit cards from both thefts were used at multiple stores. The credit cards stolen in the Olney theft were used at stores in Rockville and Wheaton, police said, and the stolen credit cards from the Damascus incident were used in Frederick. Detectives obtained store surveillance of the suspects in both incidents and believe that the suspects are the same in both cases.
Detectives are releasing photographs of the female and male suspect, and are asking anyone with information on these suspects to please call 4th District Petty Crime Detectives at 240-773-5500 or 5th District detectives at 240-773-6249.
