Pepco Investigates Power Outage in Rockville, Another Outage Reported in Bethesda

Pepco-stormUPDATED About 100 Pepco customers were without power in the Rockville area on Friday morning.

Pepco Spokesperson Marcus Beal said the outage –which impacted both residential and commercial customers – was a result of an underground cable failure. He said it took some time for crews to find the exact location of the damage.

According to Beal, power was restored as quickly as possible.

Montgomery County government reported on Twitter that its Permitting Services Office was impacted by the outage. According to a Tweet on Montgomery County’s Twitter account, the office was closed because of the outage.

According to Beal, a transformer outage in the Bethesda area this morning also left 60 customers without power.
