Pepco Announces Utility Work in Gaithersburg Area Until Late June

Pepco sent out a press release about utility work that’s going to be conducted in Olde Towne Gaithersburg from “early April to late June.”

Read the press release below for more details:

“Pepco has announced that significant utility work will be taking place in the vicinity of Frederick, Summit and Diamond Avenues in Olde Towne Gaithersburg from early April to late June, 2019. Work includes the installation of underground lines in the area of Summit and S. Frederick Avenues and the replacement of utility poles on Summit and E. Diamond Avenues.

Work will take place overnight between 7 p.m. and 5 a.m., Monday through Friday, weather permitting. Pepco is working with the City of Gaithersburg on the hours of operation and traffic control to keep disruption to a minimum. The area will likely be impacted with construction traffic and noise. Some on-street parking may be temporarily blocked. Streets and sidewalks will be open and businesses will be accessible, but traffic may be delayed due to flagging operations or construction traffic.

Pepco is distributing door hangers to those immediately impacted by the project, and will be conducting a community meeting on Wednesday, April 24, from 7:30 to 9 p.m. at the Activity Center at Bohrer Park, next to Gaithersburg High School. An overview of the project will be provided and there will be opportunity for questions.”
