Pentagon Police Officer Charged in Fatal Shooting in Takoma Park
The off-duty Pentagon Force Protection Agency Police Officer who was involved in the fatal shooting of two men in Takoma Park April 7 was charged with two counts of second degree murder Friday morning.
Besides second degree murder, David Hall Dixon, who lives in the 7300 block of New Hampshire Avenue in Takoma Park, was charged with two counts of use of a handgun in the commission of a felony and reckless endangerment in connection with the murder of Dominique Williams, 32, of Hyattsville, and James Lionel Johnson, 38 of District Heights.
Dixon also was charged with attempted second degree murder and use of a handgun in the commission of a felony in an assault against Michael Thomas, 36, of Washington, D.C., who was the driver of the vehicle Dixon shot into, according to Takoma Park Police.
The shooting happened early Wednesday morning at 7333 New Hampshire Avenue in Takoma Park.
Dixon was taken into custody without incident Friday morning.
Takoma Police has scheduled a press conference this afternoon.
