UPDATED: Pedestrian Dies After Being Struck by Vehicle in Rockville, Police Say
UPDATE 6.4.18 Detectives from Montgomery County police have identified the the pedestrian as Silvano Lemus, 43, of an unconfirmed address.
Officials from the Montgomery County Police Department confirmed that a pedestrian was hit and killed by a vehicle in Rockville Saturday.
Rockville City police, and Montgomery County Fire and Rescue services responded to 502 Hungerford Drive after reports of an incident involving a pedestrian. The male victim was transported to Suburban Hospital where he later died from his injuries, according to a news release.
A preliminary investigation revealed that the victim was attempting to cross the northbound lanes of Hungerford Drive when he was struck by a Lexus 350. The driver and his adult female passenger were not injured, according to police.
Police said the identity of the pedestrian will be released once the family has been notified. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact the Collision Reconstruction Unit at 240.773.6620.
