Patricia Davis Selected as Resident Member of Riderwood Village, Inc. Board of Directors
Patricia Davis has been selected as the Resident Member of the Board of Directors for Riderwood Village, Inc., the governing body for the Erickson Living retirement community located in Silver Spring.
A resident of Riderwood since 2006, Ms. Davis has taken several leadership roles at the community. A former member and chair of the Resident Advisory Council, she served on the Finance, Long-Range Planning, Philanthropy and Staff Appreciation Committees and as a host and writer for Riderwood Television, the in-house multi-media communications platform. She continues to serve as a resident ambassador for the Sales and Marketing Department.
“As a Board member, I will share responsibility for governance of Riderwood, providing for its financial viability, assuring maintenance of ethical and compliance standards and generating a long-term vision for the community,” stated Ms. Davis. “As Resident Director, I also have a unique responsibility to represent the concerns of all residents in the decision-making process and to communicate Board actions to them.”
As a Registered Nurse, Ms. Davis worked in the Labor & Delivery, Substance Abuse, Emergency Department and IV Therapy settings as well as a medical clinic for the homeless. She has also been an adult educator, writer, pastoral associate and organizational consultant.
Ms. Davis holds a BA in Sociology from the University of Michigan, an AA in Nursing from Montgomery College and an MDiv (Master of Divinity) from Washington Theological Union. She has previously served on two national boards, and locally, on the Montgomery County Vital Living Network, co-authoring “The Navigator,” a resource guide for seniors.
Riderwood Village, Inc. is organized as a not-for-profit corporation and is a Supported Organization of National Senior Campuses, Inc. (NSC). Riderwood is governed by its Board of Directors, whose members are independent of Erickson Living Management, LLC (Erickson Living) and its affiliated organizations. Erickson Living serves as the developer and manager of Riderwood.
