Pan African Festival Set For September 26

The annual Pan African Festival (PANAFEST-USA) will be held on Sept. 26 at the Silver Spring Civic Center.

PanaFest USASeptember is African Heritage month in Montgomery County and the PANAFEST-USA marks the end of this celebration with an event of all things African.

According to a news release, this is the festival’s 6th anniversary and more than 11,000 people come each year to celebrate African culture. In addition, festival organizers will also honor those who lost their lives to Ebola, adopt the Black Lives Matter campaign, and develop a cultural support for the African diaspora communities in the D.C.

Attendees will also enjoy live bands, African dances, fashion show, Zumba, and African and American cuisine.
