Painter Injured in Fall Down Elevator Shaft in Potomac
A 30-year-old painter was injured in a fall down a residential elevator shaft today, according to a spokesperson with Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS).
MCFRS Spokeperson Pete Piringer said the incident occurred around 9:30 a.m. at 9209 Cranford Drive in Potomac where a house was being renovated.
According to Piringer, the worker who was painting fell about 30 feet down the elevator shaft from the top floor to the basement.
Piringer described the painter’s injuries as “serious” and potentially life threatening. According to Piringer, he was transported to a local hospital as a priority one patient.
