Paint Branch Defeats Sherwood 42-0 moving on in the 4A MPSSAA Playoffs

Sherwood@Paint Branch 11-9-18 Football

Paint Branch High School, Burtonsville, Maryland November 11th 2018

The MPSSAA 4A North Regional semifinal began with an 82 yard Paint Branch kickoff return by #21 Max Davis and within the first 13 seconds of the game Sherwood was behind and did not have any answers.  The earlier regular season contest between the two schools was a Paint Branch 35-7 win which would make the casual observer believe this playoff game would be over early.  When the first half ended Paint Branch was in complete control 35-0.  This dominance was a result of an offensive line with players all weighing over 230 pounds and with a six foot five 230 pound tight end there was plenty of time to throw for senior quarter back #9 Norman Douglas, Jr.  Receivers did often get wide open which lead to a series of long pass completions and drive after drive after drive ending in touchdowns.  Sherwood was not going to stop the Panthers or put up any points during the contest.

Paint Branch next plays Mergenthaler Vocational Tech aka Mervo for the 4A North regional Championship.
