Owen Danoff Performs at Strathmore (Video)

Strathmore Artist in Residence, Owen Danoff performs on June 19 at 7:30 p.m. in the Mansion, 10701 Rockville Pike, North Bethesda. As the entrepreneurial Owen Danoff continues to forge a name for himself, he shares his progression as an Artist in Residence and unveils tracks from his untitled first full-length album, set for release in late 2013. Tickets are $15 and may be purchased by calling 301.581.5100 or online by visiting the Strathmore website.

Danoff released his debut EP, Never Trust A Man, at Strathmore in 2012, incorporating influences of pop, folk and country. A skilled singer, writer, bassist and composer, Owen has made the rounds at notable local music venues, having performed at the Kennedy Center, Black Cat, The Birchmere, 9:30 Club and The Hamilton. He has worked on recording projects with Rami Jaffee (Wallflowers, Foo Fighters), Jon Carroll (Starland Vocal Band, Mary Chapin Carpenter’s band), Pete Huttlinger, Jim Horn and Richie Garcia. At age 16 he wrote his first song, and at 20 he decided to dedicate his efforts toward crafting a career as a full-time musician. He is a 2011 graduate of the Berklee College of Music.

At Strathmore, Danoff will tease his first full length album with performances of new music that will be included on the forthcoming CD, set for release in late 2013. He is currently crowdsourcing funds to support the album’s production through a Kickstarter campaign. He’ll also premiere a Strathmore-commissioned work created as part of his residency experience.
