Our Intern Nataly Says Goodbye
Nataly Astorima, a Public Health Science student at the University of Maryland College Park, interned with Manna over the last few months. She worked with our nutritionist Jenna Umbriac to do surveys of our clients and speak to the community. Check out her experiences!
While conducting a nutrition survey, I was able to speak to clients and many said “Thank you so much for everything and to keep up the good deed.”
By interning alongside the nutrition educator, I got to see that not only is Manna trying to provide supplemental food to those that are experiencing hunger but also to provide healthier alternatives to the customary less nutritious foods that are consumed all too often.
Not only was I able to work at Manna on site but I was able to go out to the community and be an ambassador for the organization at the Rockin’ the Rage sponsored Youth Leadership Summit.
Manna is a non-governmental organization that truly goes by their mission statement to “fight hunger and to feed hope in Montgomery County.”With the help of individuals and organizations in our community, we can continue the journey of fighting hunger in this county.
So if you have any extra goods in your pantry and want to donate to Manna, I encourage you to do so. They are an amazing organization that truly does their best to help those that need it.
