Organizers Say Holocaust Commemoration Is A Lesson For The Community (VIDEO)

It’s a day organizers said they use to honor the many lives lost during the reign of Adolf Hitler in Nazi Germany from 1933-1945.

Hundreds gathered at the Julia Bindeman Suburban Center in Potomac on Sunday for a Holocaust commemoration hosted by the Jewish Community Relations Council of Greater Washington (JCRC).

This year’s theme was “Displaced Persons- Struggles to Find a Home.” According to organizers, attendees heard from survivor Marsha Tishler, who reflected on her experiences to share insights that would inform guests on today’s refugee crisis.
