Operation Turkey Chase Results

Area police officers made 131 traffic stops and 13 DUI arrests the night before Thanksgiving in Montgomery County.

Montgomery County police have just released the results of the Holiday Season Task Force’s “Operation Turkey Chase,” that took place on Nov. 27, that’s the night before Thanksgiving.

The results are posted below:

Traffic Stops – 131

DUI Arrests – 13

Traffic Citations Issued – 145

Criminal Arrests/Citations Issued – 6

Provisional License Violations – 3

Police say they typically see an increase in alcohol-related calls on Thanksgiving Eve.

Specialized law enforcement efforts will continue through January 4, 2014.

In fact, during this period, the Holiday Season Task Force will continue to utilize sobriety checkpoints, phantom checkpoints, saturation patrols, laser stop teams, and plainclothes operations.

Participating agencies in this year’s Task Force include the Montgomery County Police Department, the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department, the Maryland-National Capital Park Police, the Gaithersburg Police Department, the Rockville City Police Department and the Maryland State Police.
