O’Malley Hurricane Sandy Press Conference
Governor Martin O’Malley held a press conference at the Maryland Emergency Management Agency (MEMA) today at 1pm to provide an update on Hurricane Sandy as the storm approaches the area. The press conference was live steamed here http://www.governor.maryland.gov/stream.asp.
During the press conference, Governor O’Malley announced the following:
- Early Voting in Maryland has been cancelled for tomorrow, October 29.
- Liberal leave will be in effect for all State employees except for essential personnel tomorrow, October 29.
- Four shelters will be opening in Worcester County.
- Mandatory evacuation has been ordered for downtown Ocean City.
The governor has scheduled the next press conference for 7pm today, October 28th.
