Olney House Fire Displaces Residents and Ten Dogs (PHOTOS & VIDEO)
UPDATED Over 60 firefighters battled a house fire in Olney on Tuesday evening. A fire official said the fire caused an estimated $600,000 in damages.
Fire and Rescue Spokesperson Pete Piringer said two occupants in the house assisted ten dogs out of the house and they were not injured.
Piringer has Tweeted a link to a dramatic video of the house fire, see below:
The fire was first reported at 5:30 p.m. on Dec. 1 at 17305 Winter Laurel Drive.
First responders encountered heavy fire conditions at the house and more firefighters were called to battle the blaze.
According to Piringer, the fire ignited in the garage area and spread to the second floor. Piringer said the fire may have been enhanced by fuel from a vehicle parked in the garage. He said the blaze spread throughout the house to the second floor.
The cause of the blaze has been ruled accidental. According to Piringer, the fire originated from a car engine.
