Olney Ale House: ‘We Will Be Back’
More than a week after a fire closed the historic Olney Ale House, a message was posted on the restaurant’s Facebook page that said, “We Will Be Back.”
A statement on the Ale House’s website says that the restaurant hopes to reopen early 2020. The statement thanks Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) for their “immediate and professional response saved the Olney Ale House, containing the damage to the kitchen area which will allow us to reopen”
Enough cannot be said to thank Montgomery County Fire and Rescue. Their immediate and professional response saved the Olney Ale House, containing the damage to the kitchen area which will allow us to reopen. Each of them showed care and concern for all of our staff members who were standing out in the cold watching our lives being terribly uprooted.
We also want to thank all of our friends, family and entire community for your support, kind thoughts and prayers. We are already at work getting the doors open. While we are still working out timing, we expect to reopen in early 2020. Be assured, we will see everyone again very soon.
Thank you for your support,
The Olney Ale House Staff
The Olney Ale House’s gratitude toward MCFRS can’t be missed while driving by the restaurant at the intersection of Olney-Sandy Spring Road and Doctor Bird Road. A large sign outside the restaurant thanks MCFRS for saving the organization on December 3. There are also smaller signs near the parking lot—some noting the restaurant is temporarily closed, and others declaring, “We’ll Be BACK!”
