Observing Rosh Hashanah in Montgomery County
Rosh Hashanah, the new Jewish New Year, is celebrated sundown on Sept. 13 to the evening of Sept. 15.
Synagogues in Montgomery County are hosting services for adults and children.
“Rosh Hashanah … is a wonderful time for our congregation and guests to come together. Rosh Hashanah is a time for reflection and rejuvenation,” said Rabbi Alison Kobey from Congregation Or Chadash in Damascus.
Kobey said, just like many synagogues around the world, Congregation Or Chadash had services “to help mark the start of our year – 5776.”
“It is a time for introspection, prayer, and community togetherness,” she said.
