NWS Issues Fire Weather Warning
The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning from noon today until 8 p.m. tonight for conditions that promote the rapid spread of wildfires.
According to the NWS, a combination of strong winds and low relative humidity can contribute to extreme fire behavior.
The strongest wind gusts are expected this afternoon and early evening.
Any fire that develops has the potential to spread rapidly, according to the NWS warning.
Fire officials say it’s extremely important to discard flammable materials properly. For example, do not throw cigarettes out the car window.
Much warmer temperatures today under bright sunny skies. Gusty westerly winds and very dry air will bring the potential for fire concerns for portions of the area, where a Red Flag Warning is in effect: https://t.co/rnH8iEv9P8.
