Now Open: Corner Market and Pharmacy in Rockville

Kevin and Jason Kirsch stand outside their Corner Market and Pharmacy, the second the family has opened.

The Corner Market & Pharmacy will have a grand opening Friday afternoon after opening its doors last week on Nelson Street in Rockville. It is open from 9:00a.m. to 9:00p.m. Monday through Friday and 9:00a.m. to 7:00p.m. Sundays.

Kevin Kirsch says he and co-owner Jason Kirsch are “thrilled to death with the neighborhood response.”

Store partner Canela Bakery offers fresh bread samples just inside the door, as well as freshly baked bread and pastries every day.

Kevin Kirsch says he is proud to sell products from local businesses such as Michele’s Granola in Timonium, La Pasta in Silver Spring, and women-run Soupergirl in Takoma Park and Washington, D.C.

The Kirsches had been searching for a new location ever since their Chevy Chase Market closed last year.

The Rockville location is the second Corner Market & Pharmacy after the first one opened its doors in 2016 on Grubb Rd in Silver Spring. It created jobs for many who were unemployed after the Chevy Chase Market closed.

Now the Kirsches say they are looking to open 3 or 4 more stores in “small, under-served neighborhoods.”

“We’re here to take care of the neighborhood, and the neighborhood takes care of us,” Kevin Kirsch said. “We hope to be here for many generations to come.”
