Now Lightweight Plastics Can Be Recycled (Video)
Montgomery County has expanded its recycling capability and now residents can recycle lightweight plastic known as PET 1. This is the transparent lightweight plastic commonly used to pack fruits, vegetables, prepared food etc. Being able to recycle lightweight plastic is crucial to meet the new goal set by County Executive Ike Leggett of 70% recycled material. The county will embark on an educational campaign to inform residents that these lightweight plastic materials can now be thrown in the recycle bin.
