Nonprofit Village Relocates to Larger Office in Rockville

The Nonprofit Village is moving to a spacious location in Rockville. Indeed, the new location will continue to be a “multi-tenant” center for the 30 nonprofit organizations it houses.

With its new location, “the village” can do more to serve as an incubator for its nonprofits. At the ribbon cutting ceremony on Friday, Kim Jones, executive director of the Nonprofit Village, gave a tour of their new office spaces.

“We’ve got more space to lease to organizations [and] we’ll have an expanded coworking space,” said Jones. “We have suite offices and we have an eat in kitchen. We have event space to pull out tables and use as small event space for organizations. They don’t have to go to a hotel; they can have small networking meetings here.”

Because of its abundant space, Jones said the village can collaborate with more nonprofits.

For the past 10 years, the Nonprofit Village has helped mission-driven organizations grow. The village supports these organizations by serving as an “incubator.”

In other words, the village nourishes new mission-based organizations by providing them resources and valuable programing to help them operate successfully in the long run.

Many local officials, like County Executive Ike Leggett, County Executive-elect Marc Elrich, and Councilmember Hans Reimer came to the ribbon cutting ceremony to show support for the center.

Sydney Katz, the District 3 County Councilmember said, “[It] is going to a great thing for many people … It’s my understanding, they have about 11,000 square feet of office space, which is a little bit more than a quarter of an acre.”

The people who work at the Nonprofit Village Center see this new location as “the culmination” of their vision.
