NMAAHC: New Museum Ushers in Moments of Tears & Joy (VIDEO)

national-museum-of-african-american-history-and-culture-featured-1024x1024A three-day festival kicks off the official opening of the National Museum of African American History and Culture on September 24. Thousands of visitors from near and far will join President Obama and other dignitaries for the dedication ceremony on the Mall.

Plans for the new museum inspired individual citizens, corporations and foundations to donate millions of dollars. MyMCMedia’s Phyllis Armstrong takes us on a preview tour and introduces us to one of the early supporters from Potomac, Maryland.

The museum is free but timed passes will be required to enter on any dates through December 31. A limited number of passes are available for November and December.  Check out the NMAAHC website for more information about seeing the 12 Inaugural Exhibitions and attending the opening events.
