New Synagogue to Open in Silver Spring
Chabad of Silver Spring synagogue is scheduled to open in Silver Spring on March 29.
A ribbon cutting ceremony at 9:30 a.m. and placement of mezuzahs will celebrate the new place of worship.
According to a press release, the 6,000 square foot building includes a large space for religious services and activities, classrooms and administrative space. More than 200 people are expected to attend the grand opening celebration.
“We are so happy to able to celebrate this milestone with our friends and supporters. This new campus will allow Chabad of Silver Spring to continue to fulfill our mission to bring Jewish services, programs, and educational activities to Jews in Silver Spring regardless of their affiliation or background,” said Rabbi Berel Wolvovsky, director of Chabad of Silver Spring.
Rabbi Berel and Chaya Wolvovsky founded Chabad of Silver Spring in 2005. The synagogue offers daily Sabbath services, bar and bat mitzvah classes, Hebrew School, youth clubs, holiday celebrations, and educational programming for adults.
