New School Year Starts with Record Enrollment (VIDEO)

The start of the 2017-2018 school year kicked off  Tuesday for Montgomery County Public Schools with more than 2,000 new students, two new language immersion programs, 950 new teachers and 26 principals, and record enrollment.

According to Dr. Jack Smith, superintendent for MCPS, more than 161,000 students are enrolled this school year: the largest enrollment in the district’s history.
