New Restaurant in Takoma Park Promises Exotic Curries and Herbs of Thailand
Kin Da Thai and Sushi Restaurant, a place where owner Byron Levy said it will have a mix of of spicy, sweet and sour, fresh sushi and herbs of Thailand, is scheduled to open in Takoma Park by the end of February at the space formerly occupied by Takoma Bistro.
Levy explained that Kin Da is unique since people can visit and have a choice between two cuisines.
“We want to offer delicious food and great service to match. … My wife Bon, who is Thai, and I, lived in Thailand for a year about 2 years ago. Ever since, we have been craving a place where we could share our love of Thai food with everyone,” Levy wrote in an email to MyMCMedia.
Levy explained that his brother-in-law, partner and restaurateur, Somjet Prompharsit, has “a proven concept already in place at Aroi in D.C.”
“His knowledge and experience, our enthusiasm and this wonderful location bring something unique and special to Takoma Park. We are so excited to share what we have and know it will be great for all involved,” he wrote.
Kin Da will have approximately 50 to 60 seats and a beer and wine bar. Besides dine in, Levy wrote they will also offer carry out and delivery with entrees raging from between $10-16. Sushi and roll prices will be varied but generally not exceed $16.
“My favorite feeling after a meal is that super satisfied, healthy, but not heavy full. I want to feel like I visited MY restaurant, a place where I am always welcome, service is great, and well, the food…is delicious. It won’t hurt if my wallet doesnt lose too many pounds either. This is my response to a favorite place, I hope Kin Da becomes this for everyone else,” Levy wrote.
Kin Da Thai and Sushi Restaurant is at 6923 Laurel Avenue in Takoma Park.
