New Parking Rates for Silver Spring and North Bethesda

The Montgomery County Council approved a parking rate increase in Silver Spring and North Bethesda parking lots, garages and at meters as part of the fiscal year 2013 budget approved in May. Those rate increases went into effect January 1.

The new rates are:

• Short term parking rates for the first four hours will increase from 75-cents an hour to $1 an hour.
• Long term parking rates for more than four hours will increase from 60-cents an hour to 65-cents an hour.
• The monthly parking convenience sticker will increase from $113 to $123.
