New Kensington Middle School Named

B-CC Middle School No. 2

At a recent meeting, the Montgomery County Board of Education selected a name for Bethesda-Chevy Chase Middle School #2.

The Board voted to name the new school Silver Creek Middle School, according to a news release.

The naming process for the school began in February with the following names suggested by the Board: Dr. Paul Vance, Kensington, Silver Creek and Harriet Tubman.

Silver Creek Middle School will open in August 2017.
